Tonya came across this app during her recent interview (May 5th & 6th) at Channel 5 NBC DFW in which Lisa Mercer, the developer of this app, discussed her organization and mobile app with Noelle Walker. It was on Thursday while a Lisa and Tonya were doing the interview that a tip came in that someone witness an act of human trafficking happening in front of them. So it was interesting day for everyone when this report came through on the app when this interview was happening. - Operation Compass North Texas.
- Operation Compass.
- Both apps are in English and in Spanish.
The difference between the two apps is that the North Texas version is configured for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and all tips and information are sent to Mosiac Family Services, which is another organizations that deals with human trafficking. While the other Operation Compass app is a more standard version in which the appropriate authorities based on your location will be contacted with the information that you have sent through this app.
